“Porgy and Bess” tells the story of of a black community in Charleston that includes a big-hearted disabled beggar, Porgy, and a desperate prostitute, Bess, who fall for each other and endure great Bess comforts Clara's baby by singing Clara's lullaby. When the sun sets and darkness falls, Crown sneaks into Porgy's home to reclaim Bess. Porgy is alerted to Crown's entering and intercepts him. As the two men fight, Porgy delivers a fatal blow and Crown falls to the floor dead.
